ABOUT PARKSIDE

Parkside IS A CANADIAN JIGSAW PUZZLE COMPANY FOCUSED ON QUALITY AND DESIGN

Our story

parkside (formerly Four Point Puzzles) is a Dundas, Ontario, Canada based puzzle company that was founded in 2019 by Dundas native, Lindsay Stead. Our collection of puzzles featuring contemporary artwork, incredible planetary images and unique vintage objects, has been embraced by puzzlers around the world. From Greenland to Peru, Bahrain to Malaysia, we have shipped our puzzles to over 70 countries worldwide. As we look towards the coming months and years, we are excited to expand our collection, and to continue to offer unique puzzles that are always well made, thoughtfully designed and environmentally sustainable. In addition to our online store, you can find our puzzles at hundreds of incredible art galleries, museums and independent retailers around the world such as the National Gallery of Canada, the Institute of Contemporary Art and the SFMOMA.

Design focused leadership

Lindsay’s extensive background in design including management in graphic design / product design as well as an artistic practice in textile design, means that our business has always been design forward. You can see this in our puzzle artwork, packaging design and website. Lindsay is also a life-long puzzler and it is this unique combination of interests and experiences that adds so much value to our company.

Environmental standards
We care deeply about sustainability and how our puzzle production impacts the environment. We keep setting the bar higher for ourselves and are proud to produce puzzles at the highest possible level of environmental sustainability in our industry.
Starting in 2025 all of our puzzles will be made from FSC Mixed paper products (previously a recycled mix). This designation means that all components of our puzzles and puzzle boxes will be a mixture of recycled content and FSC certified content.
Starting in 2025 all of our puzzle pieces will come in paper bags. This change means that our puzzles will now be 100% plastic free (previous titles have pieces in plastic bags).
All inks and glues are environmentally friendly and from natural origins
We are now printing all of our puzzles in The Netherlands. Printing our puzzles closer to Canada will lessen our carbon footprint when we import our puzzles. In addition, our new, state-of-the-art factory adheres to very high environmental standards including factory heating from excess machine energy as opposed to additional heat sources and no fossil fuel based electricity. They also source 90% of their raw materials from within the Netherlands to further reduce their carbon footprint.

Unique artwork

From the delicate pen and ink illustrations by Japan-based Sanae Sugimoto to the thoughtful, graphic sensibility of Canadian artist Micah Lexier, all of our artist collaborations are chosen to reflect the varied styles and mediums of contemporary art. We prefer to have a very human element to our puzzle designs so we never use AI generated images and lean towards artwork that is created by hand (hand drawn, painted or crafted) as opposed to artwork that is digitally created.
